The ensemble work – among the leads in their delightful quintets and sextets; in the chorus; and between the orchestra and chorus – is impressive, in an opera that is far from easy to coordinate. The balance between orchestra and singers, under Cinquini’s deft and sure direction, is nearly perfect – an incredible achievement without an actual pit. 

Thanks to the opera company’s BOOT [Berks Opera Orchestra Training] Camp and the incisive, sensitive leadership of conductor Christopher Cinquini, the orchestra and chorus handle Verdi’s excruciatingly difficult score miraculously well.
